80 percent of applicants to the University of New England were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of New England, 71 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 70 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Biddeford enrolled 8,010 students in fall 2018, including 4,449 in undergraduate and 3,561 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

22 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maine, and 78 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (68 percent) and Asian (5 percent).

The school admitted 80 percent of the 4,985 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 16 percent enrolled.
