Democratic Party incumbent for the District 10 House seat Henry Ingwersen lost his bid for re-election, losing to Republican candidate Wayne Parry.

He thanked everyone who supported him during his campaign.

“I am sorry to announce that I’ve lost my bid for re-election to serve a 2nd term for Arundel, Dayton, and part of Lyman,” Ingwersen posted on Facebook.

“I want to thank all of you - family, friends, and constituents, from the bottom of my heart for helping me run a very energetic and amazing campaign. From seed money, to clean election contributions, to kitchen cabinets, to letter-writing, to driving, to putting stamps on postcards, to phone calls, to putting up signs, to all you have done, it was a great effort,” he added.

Winning candidate Parry also posted his appreciation to those who stood with him.

“Thank you to the citizens of House District # 10 Arundel, Dayton, and Lyman (part) for seeing fit to send me back to Augusta as their Representative. Thank you again,” he posted on his campaign Facebook page.
