York County ranked third in Maine for resident earnings in 2019

York County ranked third among counties in Maine by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of York County residents was $32,822 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 85,314 households with a population of 204,316.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Cumberland County with $35,560 per year after adjusting for inflation – $2,738 more than York County. It had 120,644 households with a population of 292,307.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Piscataquis County with $21,687 per year after adjusting for inflation – $11,135 less than York County. It had 7,025 households with a population of 16,836.
