York County ranked third in Maine for resident earnings in 2018

York County ranked third among counties in Maine by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of York County residents was $31,518 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 84,648 households with a population of 203,102.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Cumberland County with $33,767 per year after adjusting for inflation – $2,249 more than York County. It had 119,717 households with a population of 290,944.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Aroostook County with $21,806 per year after adjusting for inflation – $9,712 less than York County. It had 29,645 households with a population of 68,269.
