The median income of Alfred residents was $24,154 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 450 households with a population of 1,106.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Littlejohn Island with $63,000 per year after adjusting for inflation – $38,846 more than Alfred. It had 29 households with a population of 52.

The city with the lowest median resident income in the state was Castine with $5,823 per year after adjusting for inflation – $18,331 less than Alfred. It had 106 households with a population of 806.
