With the crisis in Ukraine increasing every day, many have found themselves asking “how can I help?”
A drive has been organized in partnership with local humanitarian group NuDay to collect supplies to be delivered overseas to aid those fleeing war-torn areas. The drive will run until 3/25 and final sorting/packing day will occur on Saturday, 3/26 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Center Active Living.
If you would like to volunteer to assist on the 26th, please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4BA9AD2FA5FBC34-ukraine.
NuDay, headquartered out of Derry, NH, describes themselves as “an international humanitarian organization dedicated to empowering women and children worldwide.” NuDay’s work in the past has primarily taken place in and around Syria providing aid to refugees, however they are proud to be able to utilize their expertise, experience, and contacts to assist the growing crisis in Ukraine. Their organization recently partnered with the Dover, NH Chamber of Commerce and on Friday March 11th, they were able to ship two 40-foot shipping containers of humanitarian aid to Gdansk, Poland where partner organizations along with the Polish government distributed the items to the front lines/refugees. A second shipment is scheduled for March 25th, and a third in the following week of April. To learn more about NuDay, or for direct monetary donations that aid in the shipping fees and purchasing of additional needs, you can visit their website at https://www.nudaysyria.org/ukraine.
