Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Eric O’Brien who was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police on Monday April 11, 2022.
Deputy Chief O’Brien will fill the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of Deputy Chief Mike Nugent. O'Brien has been in law enforcement since 1998, serving with Kennebunk Police Department since 2004. After serving as an Officer and Sergeant, he was promoted to Lieutenant in 2014. Eric has served as Patrol Commander as well as the Criminal Investigations/Support Services Commander so he has experience in all aspects in the operations at Kennebunk PD. Eric has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Husson University, and has received the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award for completing all three executive level leadership classes through FBI-LEEDA. Deputy Chief O’Brien and Deputy Chief Nugent will work together the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition of duties. Congratulations Deputy Chief O’Brien!
