As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we wanted to put out this reminder of leash laws in effect for all beaches in Wells.
Most importantly, we are working hard to protect the Plover chicks as they are beginning to hatch. Because they are flightless for the first month, they will use the entire beach to roam, not just the staked areas. Therefore, please keep yourselves and your leashed pets away from any Piping Plovers or chicks and use caution.
We appreciate everyone's support in this endeavor and are excited that the chicks are now beginning to hatch!
