Old Orchard Beach Town Police Department Encourage Everyone to Ensure that your Vehicles are Locked at All Times when not in Use

Old Orchard Beach Officers have responded to numerous motor vehicle burglaries around town. All of the vehicles that have been accessed and had items stolen from, have been left unlocked.

Below is an attached image from a resident's security camera of the suspect. Although it is not the best photo, it has been refined and enhanced as much as possible. If you recognize this person, please call 207-934-4911 and ask to speak with Detective Sheahan.

We encourage everyone to ensure that your vehicles are locked at all times when not in use.

Criminals look for easy targets. You can make it more difficult for them by following the 9PM routine of locking all vehicles! Many vehicle burglaries occur as a result of vehicles being left unlocked.

In many instances, we have found that criminals are walking through neighborhoods, trying vehicle door handles, hoping to find an unlocked vehicle, many times these criminals will try to access every vehicle in a neighborhood. The best way to prevent vehicle burglaries is to remove all of your valuables, lock your vehicle’s doors upon exiting and take the keys to the vehicle inside your residence.
