Waldo County Sheriff's Office Congratulations Tryston Poulin

Please join the Waldo County Sheriff's in congratulating Tryston Poulin of Burnham for his life saving efforts at a crash scene in Burnham on August 6th.  Tryston was presented a life saving achievement certificate by Sheriff Trafton for his actions and we want to publicly recognize him on our social media platform.

At around midnight on  August 6th, 2022 Tryston was inside a residence and heard the sound of a loud crash.  He ran outside in his socks and observed a crashed vehicle that was on fire.  The driver was unconscious and he attempted to remove the driver from the passenger side but was unable to.

He moved to the driver's side and was able to get the door open. Tryston was able to remove the driver from the vehicle and drag them to safety away from the burning car.  Shortly thereafter the car was completely ingulfed in flames.

There is no doubt that Tryston's quick response and actions saved the driver's life that night.  We applaud his willingness to take action and by doing so saving a life.  Tryston can take pride in knowing the driver is living today because of him.

Also in the picture with Tryston are Sheriff Trafton and Deputy Dyer (who was the investigator of the crash).
