Wells Maine Fire Department Engine 3 Replacing 5 year old Engine 7 | Wells Maine Fire Department
We are pleased to announce that we took delivery of our newest Engine this week. Engine 3 comes to us from Pierce Manufacturing and will be replacing our 5 year old Engine 7. Engine 7 has been running as the lead engine on all runs for the last five years. Engine 3 will allow this truck to move into a reserve and backup role allowing us to keep this truck for an additional 10 years to continue to respond in a support role on bigger incidents or to be used to cover Wells when Engine 3 is requested out of town.
Crews will use the next few weeks to train on the truck and then we will have radios and all necessary equipment installed so that we can place Engine 3 into service for the Spring season.
Wells Fire Department wishes to thank the Board of Selectmen as well as the Wells Budget Committee for allowing us to keep our fleet up to date and to allow us to reduce the wear and tear on our older apparatus.
