3.5% of citizens unemployed in York County in 2021

York County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 4,058 people out of the 210,486 living in York County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in York County has remained fairly stable compared to the 3.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in York County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.2%.

Of the 113,099 people who had a job during that time, 528 were employed in the Armed Forces and 112,571 belonged to the civilian labor force.
