After lots of rain Friday and Friday night it was hard knowing what to expect at Pease Golf Course on Saturday morning for the 9am shot gun start for the YSCC Championship round. The Moose adjusted to the conditions and walked away with one of their best round of the season.
Ty Cowan paced the Moose shooting a 79 and finished tied for 3rd place and was also honored as a member of the YSCC All-Conference Team. He finished his final round with (2) birdie, (7) par, (8) bogey, (1) double bogey.
David Kearns finished with a 87 and finished 17th place. He finished his final round with (7) par, (8) bogey, (3) double bogey.
Jacob Suttie finished with a 97 which was good for 23rd place. He finsihed with a final round shooting (1) birdie, (5) par, (3) bogey, (9) double bogey.
Coach Doc Merrill said he was happy with the finish. Each golfer was able to trim three or four strokes from their season average at the conference championship. He was he was most pleased with their improved work on the greens. Each athlete has been shooting very well where we have struggled the most has been on the greens and today was much improved.
