The Bowdoin College women's rugby team defeated the University of New England, 29-0, in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association Division III Championship on Saturday afternoon at Burnham Field on the campus of Dartmouth College.
The game was evenly matched in the first half and neither team could gain momentum. The Polar Bears got on the board with a try and conversion to take a 7-0 lead. UNE had a chance near the Bowdoin try line at the end of the half, but were unable to score.
Bowdoin added four more tries in the second half as it captured its third consecutive championship.
