University of New England Nor'easters roll over Anna Maria, 85-52

Keagan Dunbar drilled 4-of-4 from three-point range in the 1st period as the University of New England stormed to an early lead and picked up an 85-52 women's basketball victory against Anna Maria College on Monday evening (Nov. 21) at Coach Beaudry's Court inside the Harold Alfond Forum.

The cushion ballooned to 26 (32-6) in less than nine minutes of action, during which the Nor'easters canned seven triples -- three more than the team had made in any of the first five games this season. UNE turned the Amcats over 10 times in the opening frame and attempted 17 more shots. Juliana Tracey was actually first to score double digits by tallying the first six of the contest and then five straight following nine in-a-row from Dunbar.

The hits kept coming for UNE after Dunbar made it 23-6, with an old-fashioned three-point play from Cameron Watkins and then long-distance strikes by Kaitlyn Santos and Gabby Soter. The margin grew to 52-20 at halftime.

Winners of three consecutive outings, the Nor'easters (4-2) now get five days to prepare for a visit to No.11 Tufts University on Sunday.

Dunbar dialed up 20 points on the night, to go with six assists, five rebounds, and four steals. Kaylee Beyor had a strong second half to end with a double-double of 17 points and 13 boards, and Tracey concluded with 13 points. Watkins chipped in with seven points, as did Soter, who also snagged seven rebounds and picked up four steals.

UNE amassed 25 offensive rebounds to win the battle on the glass by 15 (50-35), and converted those into 23 second-chance points.

Marinique Reddin paced Anna Maria (0-4) with 16 points, and Chloe Giordano added 13. The visitors notched 17 of their points at the free throw line, while the Nor'easters only tried five at the stripe all game.
