Three goals in the third period provided the difference as #4 Endicott College defeated #14 University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey matchup on Saturday afternoon a Bourque Arena.

The game was fairly even over the opening 40 minutes of action with the Gulls holding a slim 24-23 advantage in shots although neither team was able to get on the board.

Matt Giroux broke through for Endicott 2:26 into the third period as his shot from the point trickled into the net. Black Benson and Mitch Shaheen assisted on the game-winner. The Nor'easters had a 5-on-3 opportunity midway though the period but were unable to draw even.

Endicott made the most of a power-play chance late in the game as Andrew Kurapov found Zach Mazur for a goal with 2:23 left to extend the lead to 2-0. Connor Amsley put in an empty net goal with 35 seconds remaining.

Shots favored the Gulls 33-32 on the day. Billy Girard had 30 saves in the loss for UNE. Ryan Wilson made 32 stops for Endicott.
