Colby College Mules Tie Huskies

Men's Hockey traveled down to the University of Southern Maine earlier tonight in a non-conference matchup.

The first period featured even play against both teams, with USM outshooting Colby 10-9. The Huskies, however, netted an early goal against goaltender CJ Hapward to go up 1-0 through twenty minutes against the Mules. Just prior to the halfway point of the game, Colby found themselves on the power play. Ryan Doolin would send a wrist shot past the right shoulder of the Huskie's goaltender as Jake MacDonald and John McElaney earned assists. The third period showcased even play, as both teams had several key opportunities to score a go-ahead goal. The teams would need overtime to determine the outcome of tonight's game, but once again back and forth play and no team being able to score, to end the game in a 1-1 tie.
Despite the tie, the Mules won 42 of 61 faceoffs tonight. Hapward made 22 saves.

Colby plays next on Saturday, January 28, against Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Puck Drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
