Senior defenseman Alex Sheehy, senior forward Jared Christy, and senior forward Jake Fuss led a group of five University of New England men's ice hockey players who were honored on Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) all-league teams as the season-ending awards were announced on Wednesday (Mar. 8) by CCC Associate Commissioner Doug Chin.

Sheehy, Christy, and Fuss are garnered 1st Team status through the voting conducted by the conference's eight head coaches. Junior goaltender Billy Girard IV and sophomore forward Ryan Kuzmich received nods for the 2nd Team.

During the CCC schedule, Fuss, Kuzmich, and Christy all ranked among the top 10 forwards in total points (third, fifth, and ninth, respectively). Sheehy was fifth in assists from the blue line, and Girard ranked fourth in both save percentage and goals against average.

The Nor'easters had more individuals listed on the first two teams than any other institution, ahead of Curry College with four and Endicott College with three. In all, the three programs accounted for 16 of the 19 selected.

For Fuss, it marks a second straight season listed with the top squad. Both Christy and Girard were third team picks a year ago.

UNE is preparing for the first round of the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship, which begins this Saturday at Plymouth State University. The Nor'easters met the Panthers in the opening round of the tournament last season, as well, and came away with a thrilling 3-2, double overtime victory.
