Sophomore Fiona Mejico traveled to Birmingham, Alabama to represent Colby College Track and Field in the NCAA Indoor Championships, entering the Women's 400-Meters race as the 13th seed.

On Friday at 4:25 pm, the top 20 Division III runners in the nation for the Women's 400-Meter race began their competition. Although Fiona Mejico came in as the 13th seed, she surpassed several of her higher-ranked competitors to end the race in 9th place, only 0.25 seconds short from qualifying for the final and becoming an All-American. Fiona Mejico's elevation is representative of an incredible indoor season as the team shifts to the outdoor season.

Next Friday and Saturday, March 17th and March 18th, Colby College Women's Track and Field will travel to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the Emory Invitation I.
